First Match Race!

This was the first race for Nauti-Dog. It  was a Thursday night race at 6.75 miles in length. Waterwolf owes Nauti-Dog 48 seconds per mile for handicaps. That means Waterwolf owes a total of 5 minutes and 24 seconds for the race. Since Waterwolf finished nine minutes and 24 seconds ahead, Waterwolf won the race. Nauti-Dog earned second place!

The wind was from east-northeast blowing at about 8-10 knots. The weather was overcast, but it was a nice night for sailing. The course was set up as mostly close reaching or beam reaching, so an easy race.

Brought the new battery out to Nauti-Dog and installed it in it’s box. I purchased a West Marine Dual Purpose battery as the house battery for the electronics. While I was under the cockpit I measured all the wire lengths required for the second battery and switch. Also started the Yanmar for the first time in 10 days. It started fine and pumped plenty of water. Also did some general tidying up too. One of the other things I tried today was to find a way to transfer waypoints from the laptop to Raymarine MFD. Unfortunately I did have any success so I manually entered a few to start.
