Record speed for the summer, record number items over
board and our best gybes. Moments after casting off the mooring with the
mainsail hoisted a batten started sliding out. With no room to maneuver in the mooring
field the batten slid all the out and immediately sunk. While exiting the
harbor with no room to turn a Red Sox hat was lost. Thankfully things turned around
with flying our heavy jib. We broke 7kts! Wind were 12-15kts from SW-ish. Returning
to harbor we executed some of the cleanest gybes!
